Rocky River Community Church exists to give people the best opportunity possible to become fully developing followers of Jesus Christ, by…

  • Inviting people into a life-changing encounter with God (WORSHIP)
  • Guiding people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (EVANGELISM/OUTREACH)
  • Connecting people to others in healthy relationships (FELLOWSHIP)
  • Mentoring people in practical Christian living (DISCIPLESHIP/EDUCATION)
  • Involving people in meaningful ministry in our community and the world (MINISTRY/MISSIONS)


Our Vision (What do we want to become”)
The Vision of Rocky River Community Church is to build a biblically functioning community of believers so that Jesus’ life-changing purposes can be accomplished on the earth.  Matthew 28:18-20
 
Our Values

Team.  We believe that anything worth doing is worth doing as a team.  This builds buy-in among the people of the church, creates opportunities for fellowship and growing relationships, and is more effective.
 
Authenticity.  We believe that in order to have true fellowship and personal growth it is necessary for people to be who they are.  So we encourage people to take off their masks and just be themselves.
 
Community.  More and more, our community is made up of people who are new to the area.  Primarily, they are from the North, Northeast, and the Midwest.  Therefore, they are disconnected from their support systems (family, friends, etc.).  We see it as a great ministry opportunity to help them get connected with other people in the church and our community.  Not to mention the Scriptures teach us that the church is a community.
 
Relevance.  We believe that the life transforming truths of Scripture are timeless.  We are committed to communicating the message of Jesus Christ in ways that are relevant to the present culture, not keeping old traditions alive.
 
Innovation.  We believe in using every innovative tool at our disposal in order to share the Gospel with our community.
 
Multiplication/Reproduction.  We want to be a church that starts churches.  We believe that the greatest way to share the Gospel with the world is by starting new, healthy churches.
 
Journey/Process.  We believe that becoming a fully functioning follower of Jesus Christ is a journey of faith and developing along the journey requires a process for spiritual growth.
 
Joy/Fun.  We believe that following Christ is a life to be enjoyed, not endured.
 
Diversity.  We value people, plain and simple.  Because of that we invite people to come to Rocky River no matter who they are or where they’ve been.
 
Truth.  Currently, our society rejects any idea of absolute truth.  We believe that God is truth and that all truth belongs to Him.  Therefore, we are not threatened by the idea of truth and we believe that it is ultimately truth that changes people’s lives.
