WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT A SUNDAY SERVICE?

Whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in one before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. Where do I go? Where should I park? How should I dress? How long does it last? What about my kids? We want your first experience at Rocky River Church to be relaxed, and for you and your family to enjoy the service. So, here is some information to help you know what to expect:

WHERE IS ROCKY RIVER CHURCH?

Rocky River Church is located at the corner of Pitts School Road and Roberta Road in Concord. The address is 887 Pitts School Road SW, Concord, NC 28027.

WHAT TIME IS THE SERVICE?

We have two identical Sunday morning services at 8:30am, 9:45am and 11:15am.  Our services last about 65 minutes.  We encourage you to arrive about 10-15 minutes early, especially if you have young children. This will give you plenty of time to get your children checked into CreekKidz or RiverKidz and for you to find a good seat in the worship center prior to the service starting.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I GET THERE?

When you arrive, our friendly Parking Team will help direct you to an open spot. If you have children ages birth through 5th grade, then follow the signs to our Kidz Check-In area to the left of the worship center. You will receive a bulletin on your way into the Worship Center. This bulletin will include message notes, important information, and a connection card, which you will turn in at the end of the service.

And on your way out, if you have any questions, just look for one of our courteous volunteers wearing a lanyard. They’re easy to spot and always happy to help!

 HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

We are a casual dress, come as you are church.  At Rocky River Church you’ll find people wearing jeans, tennis shoes, sandals, and even shorts.  But honesty, dress up or dress down, we don’t care.  What matters to us is that you are here!

 WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?

Our goal every Sunday is to teach the timeless truths of the Bible in a way that is engaging and applicable to your life. You will find that the messages are practical, easy to understand, and grounded in the Bible.

 WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC?

The music at Rocky River is always rockin! Rocky River features a live band with electric guitar, bass, keyboard and drums every week.

 WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

Rocky River Church offers a safe and exciting children’s program during the worship service for your children, birth to 5th grade. As you approach the service, you will see our Kidz Check-In area just to the left of the worship center (just follow the signs). There you will meet one of our fully-trained and background-checked Kidz Team members who will help you check your child in.

During check-in, you will receive two stickers, one for your child and one for you, which you will need to pick up your child after the service. For the security of your children, it is important that you keep track of your sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child. We offer two areas for your children. We have CreekKidz which is birth to 5 years old and RiverKidz which is kindergarten through 5th grade.

CreekKidz and RiverKidz is staffed solely by members in good standing at Rocky River Church, who have been background checked and receive ongoing training to make your children’s experience the best it can be! During CreekKidz and RiverKidz, your children will experience fun Bible lessons, activities, and games to help them build a spiritual foundation. Simply stated: We want this to be the best hour of your child’s week!

WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS?

At Rocky River Church, we have a great group of teens that meet during the week on Wednesday nights. This consists of both Middle School and High School Students. The great music, casual dress, relaxed atmosphere and the teaching of the Bible makes for the perfect place for teens to worship God and grow in their faith. Our Middle School Students also meet on Sunday mornings during both services and our High School Students meet on Sunday nights at 6pm.

WHAT’S AVAILABLE DURING THE WEEK?

During the week, Rocky River Church meets on Wednesday night for Bible Study. This is a more in-depth, verse-by-verse study of the Bible. We also have small groups (we call them Rock Groups) that meet at different times and locations during the week. For more information about getting connected to a small group fellowship, send an email to Donnie@RockyRiverChurch.com or call our church office at 704-795-ROCK (7625).

HOW DID ROCKY RIVER CHURCH GET STARTED?

Jimmy Britt, lead pastor and his wife Karen started Rocky River Church in 1999 to be the church that it is now: A church for people who have never been to church and those who have given up on “church as usual.” From the beginning, God has blessed Rocky River Church in many ways. We’ve seen hundreds of lives changed as people have stepped up to use their gifts and abilities to make a difference in the lives of others in the name of Jesus Christ. We are partnering with groups to make a difference right here in our community, and also in Paraguay, the Congo of Central Africa and South America among other places.

While we are excited about all that God has done in our church over the past 15 years, we believe our best days are still ahead!
